Tumblr Staff: News!

staff:

Everyone, I’m elated to tell you that Tumblr will be joining Yahoo.

Before touching on how awesome this is, let me try to allay any concerns: We’re not turning purple. Our headquarters isn’t moving. Our team isn’t changing. Our roadmap isn’t changing. And our mission – to empower creators to…

So, it is true.

But #YES, independence! I hope this billion-dollar connection between Yahoo! and Tumblr is a sign of more greater things to come!

Music of the moment: Foo Fighters’ ‘Next Year’
from the 1999 studio album There is Nothing Left to Lose

For me, ‘Next Year’ falls under the Foos’ ‘most cheerful, relaxing’ category. You may disagree, and that’s fine. But really, this is just perfect to listen to when you’re ‘chillaxing’, having a pizza and a Coke or water, and maybe sing along to the chorus even if you’re out of tune. Why? Because I’ve done that before. With a friend slash professor. While he’s approving students’ course for next term. True story.

This song brings me back to memories that happened just a few years ago—a time when I lied low from the people in school that I love, I did my best to fix myself while licking my wounds. Not only do I want to; I have to. And while doing that, the more I listened to the song, the more it became to what I’m doing it. And I took Dave Grohl’s advice; I know deep down that ‘I’ll be coming home next year.’

And I did. And you know what? Things started to get better by then. I got better; the things around me got better; my relationships to the people I love (well, mostly) got better. WWDG worked for me.

'When You Seem to Forget'

‘Can we talk?’

‘We’re talking now. Hi. How are you?’

‘You know… we kept fighting and arguing these past few days. This is just getting unhealthy.’

‘What’s… what are you talking about?’

‘I’m not really the greatest friend you ever have. And it has been days, so…’

‘What?’

‘Forget everything…’
